bowling and pizza

What goes together better than bowling and pizza? OK, maybe a lot of things, but bowling and pizza do seem to go together quite nicely. So that's what we did, took the kids bowling and then out to Boston Pizza. What a great afternoon! Is it bad that it felt weird to actually bowl and not do it on the Wii? Pierre finally beat me! Abigail was her usual dramatic self (as you will see from some of the pictures), Emma didn't want to have many pictures taken, and she sometimes hides the fact that she is happy and having fun. But I got 1 almost happy face.......I think they had fun!

It is very hard to take pictures while bowling and NOT get a lot of butt shots!!!!

tourists in our own backyard

We decided to take the girls to Toronto on Friday- which ended up being a bad afternoon to go with a Blue Jays game that night and it being the first day of the CNE, but what do we know? We took them to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner and then headed up the CN tower. HOLY EXPENSIVE! But now they can say that they have been up! As I hyper-ventilated on the way up- thinking about the cables breaking and plummeting to our death....the girls - especially Emma - thought the speed and the height was pretty cool......and then there was the glass floor! "Mom, look at me!" As she jumped up and down and my stomach did somersaults!

tutus and lollipops

I've been surfing and studying other photographers blogs and through my travels, I came across the idea of little girls in tutus! What could be cuter than that? So I browsed some more and found a tutorial on how to make your own tutu, and made my own tutus! Throw 2 adorable girls and giant lollipops into the mix and this is what you get:

a picnic and a splash pad

Last week the girls and I went down to the Dundas Driving Park with Lora and the boys. There is a new splash pad and wading pool down there this year and I wanted to see what it's like down there....and I thought it might be a fun afternoon for the kids too...of course!

Carter had a blast trying to splash me. He would kick up water and giggle hysterically. He got better at it the longer he tried and eventually completely soaked my pants!

....but he mostly just got water in his own face.

....and my little water babies slithered around the wading pool on their bellies, apparently pretending to be turtles.

Baby Jack just hung back taking it all in.

We had a picnic under a tree and the kids played at the playground too. I just didn't go picture crazy with those activities....(I know, that is so unlike me!) I have to give the kids a break sometimes!
