more halloween

The girls had a black and orange day at school, and they were told to be creative, so I put elastic on the fabric pumpkins I made and they wore them as hats! How's that for creative?

I was playing around with the settings of my camera the other day and asked Abby to just sit there while I took a bunch of pictures so I could compare them. She started making faces at me because she was a little cold and bored. I just love these two.

the beginning of the halloween pictures...

It's Halloween time, and we try to go all out with the activities and costumes at this house. The girls and I made this gingerbread haunted house last week with at least$30 worth of candy! Now they can't wait to break it apart and eat it ALL!!! I have a feeling that the girls are going to be bouncing off the walls all weekend! This is just the beginning of the Halloween pictures. There are lots more to come over the next couple of days.....

to the pumpkin patch we go....

There is a place really close to where we live that has made picking a pumpkin to carve an event! So we have headed out to the farm with friends the last couple of years. They have a cemetery set up with funny sayings on the headstones, a zip line for the kids, a corn maze, pumpkin sling shot and a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch to get your pumpkins. Between the other 2 families we were with and us, there were 8 kids and 6 adults...so we had a LOT of pumpkins to carry back!





Can you tell Emma is getting a little tired of me putting the camera in her face all the time?




I think the pumpkin sling shot was the favourite! There is a target in the water that you have to try to hit...if you manage to hit it, you get a candy apple. Both girls tried it! (Notice the tongue sticking out a bit with each of the girls!) But it is definitely a Dad favourite!

It was a fun afternoon!

apple picking tradition

Apple picking has turned into a tradition in the Fall. It has been entertaining (and a little sad) looking at the pictures from years past....my, my, my, the girls have changed so much. We go to Carluke Orchard, pick some apples, I take LOTS of pictures, we buy some home baked goodies, and go home to bake with the apples. This year we only made a few apple crisps, but they were so good! It's a tradition we look forward to every October.
